Welcome and thank you for visiting my website today.. I am Kemira Denlea, the owner of Sounds for Well-Being, Sound Therapy for Humans and Animals.. My journey to today has been varied and interesting and I consider myself fortunate for the uncommon path Life has brought to me.
My first stop on the career path led me to working with people who were Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind. I was a director of the Deaf Service Center for Volusia County, FL, a non-profit that provided services to all of Volusia County’s 2500 Deaf and Hard of Hearing citizens. For a few years, I was honored to serve as the Deaf-Blind Specialist for the state of Florida, working with Florida’s population of Deaf-Blind people. It was here that I learned that an indomitable spirit can overcome “disability” and my life was both inspired and changed by those who did not let this obstacle stop them. I also served as a certified Sign-Language Interpreter, and an adjunct college professor who taught English as a Second Language to adults who were Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
As my path went on, I decided to become certified to teach students in public schools. As such, I taught History and Language Arts to 6th, 7th and 8th graders in Albuquerque, NM and Bradenton, FL. In addition, I was lucky enough to teach a Community Based Instruction class in Albuquerque, where my students had developmental disabilities, again, teaching me that, even in middle school, a strong spirit overcomes others’ labels. Twenty years of teaching led me to a stint as an IB Coordinator in Bradenton, from which I “retired” in 2020.
However, retirement is an opportunity to grow and learn and become someone new, and I have been fortunate to have found joy in the Sound Healing/Sound Therapy world since retiring. Working with people and animals to help them heal and transform themselves is an activity for which I am grateful beyond words.
What People Say
“I feel more confident, calmer, a much better outlook at life and a spiritual sense of wellbeing.
“Kemira was professional, kind and very approachable. I felt comfortable being uncomfortable with her, shedding tears and telling my sad story that seems so much less sad now. I felt like she was really ‘hearing’ me.
“[I have experienced] pain relief and I have found a real sense of confidence, clarity, hopefulness. “
Kim
“The sound healing did a lot, especially, for my emotional wellbeing. It opened me up and helped my outlook.
I learned a lot about the power of meditation through my sound healing. Through Kemira’s sound healing techniques, I was able to view my worries and obstacles from a distance. Having the buffer the sound healing provided allowed me to look at those issues without emotion, which made it possible to come to practical, peaceful solutions. Not to say these issues don’t still exist, but I feel like I have a better path forward now.
Karen
The sound healing relaxed my muscles which resulted in less tension and less pain.
Kemira was very calming, had a trusting tone, and the atmosphere was very peaceful.
It is very worthwhile to try this natural healing to calm and relax the body and mind.
